SERVE is a hardcover anthology cookbook featuring remakes of recipes previously published in American Legion Auxiliary fundraising cookbooks from 1919 to 2019. Members of the world's largest patriotic service organization for women served as test kitchens and modernized recipes and shared their experiences. The book is published by the first and only campus-affiliated unit of the ALA, which has more than 10,000 units worldwide: American Legion Auxiliary Unit 1879 at Colorado State University. The book has a 3-fold mission: honor the legacy of women in the organization, inspire conversation, and support mental wellness programs for veterans (including the creative arts and adaptive sports and recreation).
